Philipe Barsamian
Symbolics Lab is an independent research initiative studying the engineering of distinction — how the differences that underlie every concept arise, stabilize, and fail. Formal logic, philosophy, aesthetics, and AI each rest on distinctions they take as given; the lab makes those the object, unified by a shared formal vocabulary and a verification infrastructure in Agda.
Philipe Barsamian holds an LL.B. from the Université de Montréal, a graduate diploma in taxation from HEC Montréal, and a BFA from Concordia University (with Great Distinction). Before founding Symbolics Lab, he practiced tax law and co-founded a film production company in Montréal.
His research has been presented at the World Congress on Universal Logic (Cusco), Leibniz University Hannover, CSIC Madrid, the University of Konstanz, the Politecnico di Torino (Best Paper Award, ∀ISION_E 2026), and the École Normale Supérieure Paris. He is based in Montréal, Québec.
